Privacy Policy
Effective: July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DogPlus (“DogPlus,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our pet-concierge service, which connects hotel guests with vetted dog walkers. By booking a walk or using our website and apps, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
DogPlus operates a premium pet-concierge service that connects hotel guests with vetted dog walkers. We act as the data controller for the personal information you provide to us.
2. What we collect and why
- Guest details — your name, contact details (email, phone), and hotel room number, used to identify you, arrange your booking, and coordinate pickup and drop-off with hotel staff.
- Pet information — your dog's name, breed, medical notes, and feeding or handling instructions, used so that walkers can care for your dog safely.
- GPS location during walks — the walker's location while a walk is active, used to show you the live route and to confirm the walk was completed as booked. Tracking runs only for the duration of the walk.
- Photos — pictures taken by the walker during the walk and shared with you as part of the service.
- Payment information — card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive only payment metadata (such as confirmation status and the last four digits of your card); we never see or store your full card number.
3. How we use your data
We use your information to schedule walks, dispatch and coordinate walkers, share live walk updates and photos with you, process payments, provide customer support, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purposes above. Our retention schedule is enforced automatically:
- GPS location data and walk photos are retained for 12 months, then permanently deleted.
- Guest account and booking data are retained for 3 years after your last booking, then permanently deleted, unless a longer period is required by law (for example, to meet tax or accounting obligations).
5. Third-party processors
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards:
- Stripe — payment processing. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own privacy terms.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) — secure storage of walk photos.
- Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics to keep our service reliable.
6. Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
7. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights over the personal information described in section 2:
- Right to know — you may ask us what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, where we collected it from, why we collected it, and which categories of third parties we disclosed it to. Section 2 lists the categories we collect and section 5 lists the service providers we disclose to.
- Right to delete — you may ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. We may keep information we are legally required to retain (for example, transaction records for tax purposes) and will tell you if we do.
- Right to correct — you may ask us to fix personal information about you that is inaccurate.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes we will update this policy and offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option before doing so. You may also send us an opt-out request at any time using the address below.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the request you are making. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days; if we need more time we will tell you and may take up to 90 days in total. So that we do not hand your data to someone else, we verify requests against the email address and booking details on your account before acting on them. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf by emailing the same address with written permission signed by you.
